This might be heresy, but I don't really like the Nürnberger Weihnachtsmarkt. It's just so huge and crowded. And it kind of feels like the unholy union of a Christmas market and a Wal-Mart. It's weird - I like Nürnberg quite a bit, just not the market.

We went to Hamburg right before Christmas a few years ago and they had several smaller markets - those were nice. I think we're going to try and get down to Munich for some of their markets this year.

Cliff, perhaps some year but not this year. I'll be visiting some in villages in the area.

MyCity seems to open our earlier and earlier every year. I wish they'd stick to the tradition of opening on Advent.

Now that is a ringng endorsement!

Y'all are early by Regensburg's standards. Ours open Thursday night. I think ours are nice — there are three or four of various sizes and styles to choose from. Other expat peeps have enjoyed themselves here too. Come try it sometime.
