Another update from Veitnam

Having fun at the beach.

Took a water trip and did some snorkeling and met lots of fun people to hang out with two days ago.

Rented a motorbike yesterday, but got a flat tire at 15:00. Luckily I was a block from the hotel and walked it back. The fixit guy didn’t have time to buy another tire and change it, so I was out of luck. It was still worth the 80,000 D (€3.07) I paid because I left at 10:00 and had it til then and saw a lot in that time.

I’m returning to Saigon on 9 Jan by train – no more long tedious bus rides for me, though. I bought my train ticket yesterday for a ‘soft seat in a/c wagon’ for 173,000 D (€6.65). The bus is more
expensive and takes 3 hours longer than the 8 hour train ride.

Still having a great time and glad I’m not in cold and snowy Europe now.

The prices are so cheap. How could you go wrong? Everyone says Vietnam is a destination not to be missed. I will have to put it on our list.

It sounds like you’re having a good time, and as my hot water pipe has frozen for the second time this winter, I am wishing I was there instead of here.
